In this presentation I will give an overview of PHP Data Objects (PDO) and we will discuss how to implement them in your code. Whether you are starting a new PHP project, or revamping an older one, PDOs are a great way to connect to and interact with your database. We will focus our discussion on: what PDOs are, when to use them, PDO drivers, how to implement them and the functionality of the PDO classes. We'll discuss ways to integrate them into your project, regardless of whether you are using a framework or not. Along the way I'll show examples of real world code that is taking advantage of PHP Data Objects and their data-access abstraction.
