Let's go iRacing Episode 03, I jump into what is possibly the fastest bathtub and race online against other Sim-Racers in the nimble and somewhat frail Star Mazda formula car.

After about 35 laps of practice It was time to join a race and see where we could place. Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve was the location a tight windy track with walls on every corner just waiting hug you like a grandma.

You will have to watch the video to see how it went but I'd certainly describe it as "interesting"

You can join i racing here http://www.iracing.com/ though make sure you have plenty of money and a partner that's not going to kill you first.

This video was filmed with OBS on a Intel core i5 GTX 970

The game was played using an Oculus Rift DK2, logitech G25, Wheel stand pro, two Ikea boxes and race craft only possible after drinking Twinings Everyday Tea.

Here we find ourselves at the Lets Race simulation centre located a stones throw away from Gatwick airport in Horley, Surrey.

LetsRace is the only venue in the United Kingdom that boasts publicly accessible motion platforms available all year round.

The simulators are networked together allowing people to show up and race each other to get a loose idea of what its like to drive a F1 car.

We had a fantastic time chatting with the staff as well as other people at the LetsRace venue even bumping into fellow Sim-Racers which was quite a surprise as we all know only 6 exist in the world.

It was clear that the simulators are set up to make them publicly accessible with steering torque/FFB set relatively low, along with brake and accelerator pedals that more closely resemble the feel of a road car than that of a race car.

All in all I think the appeal of LetsRace is that it allows anyone to simply jump-in and drive with no prior experience giving a good taster of simulated racing to people who would otherwise never know about it.

If you happen to be near Gatwick airport in the UK and felt like a bash in a simulated F1 car then I'd certainly recommend checking it out, if not just for the interesting experience of sitting in a motion platform.

LetsRace not only offers its simulator experiences but the venue contains a full bar as well as facilities to accommodate the younger wannabe race drivers with non motion simulators running Gran Turismo.

I'd like to thank the staff and people we met at LetsRace for making our visit so enjoyable and look forwards to seeing you all again in the future.

You can book time at LetsRace or read more about them by going to their website here: http://www.letsrace.co.uk/

The latest version of Elite dangerous is now available to play for those of you with beta access to the title.

Importantly the game now works far better with the Oculus Rift DK2, running with the latest run-time users no longer have to fiddle to simply run the game.

The inclusion of more graphical options and better optimizations have also gone a long way to make playing Elite on the DK2 far more enjoyable.
