Many pro cameras these days support shooting in RAW mode, but you need the proper tools to turn it into a masterpiece. The most common software for that is Adobe Lightroom, but there's a great open source challenger in Darktable.
We will learn how to enable RAW mode, how to install Darktable, how to import photos, and how to use the various modules to achieve basic affects like color correction, graduated density, denoise, sharpen. We'll use both drawn and parametric masks, those tricky little buggers. With Darktable, you never worry about white balance again.
